Welcome Leila Faramarzi, our new Petrochemicals Europe’s Executive Director
Since 16th January 2026 , Petrochemicals Europe has a new Executive Director: Leila Faramarzi. Leila took over the role of Frans Stockman, who resigned in summer 2025.
Leila is a Chemical Engineer and holds a PhD in Natural Gas Transmission and Processing.
Her most recent role was as the Head of Carbon Projects Development at E.ON. From Iranian and Norwegian nationalities, Leila brings over 20 years of international experience in the areas of petrochemicals and natural gas. A very warm welcome to Leila.
Farewell Note for Vincent Porcelli
As of 1st March, Vincent Porcelli has left OSPA for professional reasons. Vincent joined OSPA in 2019 and became Chair in 2020, contributing actively to the ESIG Steering Committee as well as to ESIG Public Affairs and Communication.
With his rare combination of commercial insight and technical depth, he helped shape OSPA’s work in meaningful ways. For Vincent, solvents were not just products, but essential enablers of modern applications – always linked to responsible use, safety, and sustainability. His commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practice has left a lasting mark on our community.
We sincerely thank Vincent for his dedication and professionalism over the past years and wish him every success for the future.
Farewell Note for Özgür Katak
As of 1st May, Özgür Katak has stepped down from OSPA for professional reasons. Özgür joined our group in 2022 and served as Chair of the OSPA Glycol Ethers Group (GE), contributing with his deep expertise and strong industry perspective to both OSPA GE and ESIG Steering Committee.
With broad experience across the entire value chain — from manufacturing and sales to product and business management — he significantly enriched our work. His technical knowledge of glycol ethers and his constructive contributions were highly valued within all OSPA committees.
Özgür’s commitment to collaboration stood out: for him, cooperation was not just an organisational principle, but a key success factor for the entire sector. He consistently championed the balance between the wide industrial use of our products and compliance with regulatory requirements.
We sincerely thank Özgür for his dedication, expertise, and the constantly positive cooperation. We wish him every success in his future professional endeavours.
