SIA Annual General Meeting
The Solvents Industry Association was able to host their first face to face meeting since the pandemic when they staged their 35thSIA Annual General Meeting, which took place on 23rdSeptember.
Attended by SIA Members and guests from 25 companies, delegates enjoyed a series of enjoyable, informative and at times entertaining presentations from experts in the fields of Health & Safety and Sustainability. SIA General Secretary, Andrew Norman said, ‘Despite the challenges we have faced in the past 2 years, the support from the Members and guests at this year’s event has been outstanding. It was wonderful to see so many people in person again and we are looking forward to doing more of the same as it becomes safer for us to do so’.
SIA’s new chair for the next term will be Andrew Ford of Hayman Group and Stephanie Callens, also from Hayman Group was awarded the 2021 SIA Safety Award for her outstanding contribution to Health & Safety. She has been instrumental in the production of several SIA Safety Guides and posters

SIA Cooperation
Following recent collaboration in the production of the Solvents and the Safe Use of Gloves film, the SIA and the British Safety Industry Federation have teamed up to share resources and to promote safer working practices within the solvents and petrochemical industries. This new partnership shall enable both parties to share their extensive knowledge and expertise to a wider audience and to raise safety standards and awareness within the industry.
