ESIG at the European Coating Show:
Promoting Safe and Sustainable Solvent Use

Active Participation and Collaboration

From March 28 to 30, ESIG, in collaboration with Biocides for Europe (a Sector Group of Cefic) and CEPE (the European Paint and Varnish Association), participated in the European Coating Show (ECS) in Nuremberg. As exhibitors, we showcased our “solvents@work” material alongside Biocides for Europe and CEPE.

Significant Platform for Engagement

This year’s ECS attracted 25,681 trade visitors and 1,216 exhibitors from 46 countries, providing a significant platform for engagement.
Throughout the event, we held numerous discussions with members and distributors, emphasising our commitment to the “Safe Use of Solvents”. The ECS enabled us to reinforce our position as a reliable partner in safety and sustainability, enhancing the visibility of our initiatives.

Gratitude and Future Engagements

We are grateful to everyone who visited our stand to learn more about our work and look forward to seeing you at the next event.

Annual Interactive Training Sessions on Solvents Announced by ESIG and SIA

The European Solvents Industry Group (ESIG), in collaboration with the UK-based Solvents Industry Association (SIA), is excited to announce its annual interactive training sessions on solvents. Open to all members and stakeholders, these sessions offer a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of the solvents sector through expert insights and hands-on learning. Don’t miss out!

Training Dates and Venue

The next sessions will take place on 17 & 18 September 2025 at the Cefic offices in Brussels.

Training Structure

The training is structured in two parts, delivered over two days:

Day 1:
Introduction to the Solvents Industry

This first training course is an introductory course designed for newcomers in the solvents sector and other professionals looking to ‘refresh’ their knowledge about solvents. This course is useful to those working in commercial or administrative areas. The course is purposely kept small to encourage interaction and ensure dynamic discussions.

Day 2:
Solvents and their Applications

This training is designed to support the previous ‘Introduction to the Solvents Industry’ course and is aimed at anyone within the solvents industry who would like to acquire a greater understanding of where solvents are used in the manufacture of everyday items.

Participant Feedback

Participants praised the course for its strong, practical content, focus on sustainability, and the approachable manner in which complex topics were discussed. The training is designed to be accessible to those new to the industry, including non-native English speakers, and is valuable for anyone interested in strengthening their understanding of solvents.

Here’s a glimpse of the enthusiastic feedback from attendees

💬 “I’ve been in solvents for years but learned so many new things, especially in the applications part!”

For non-ESIG members, a participation fee of €250 per session applies.
