Over a year ago in March 2020, the European Commission outlined the actions required to lead the twin digital and green transitions with a focus on industrial ecosystems. Some 14 ecosystems have been identified as also being crucial to Europe\u2019s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. ESIG has developed a new online platform that shows in a visually appealing and easily understandable way where the solvents play a role in each specific ecosystem and application. It gives information to anyone who wants to learn more about the key applications.<\/p>\n

This new platform was developed with the help of ESIG members, who identified which solvent applications contribute to which ecosystem outlined by the European Commission. You have certainly heard about alcohols such as Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), ethanol or propanol that are active ingredients of disinfectants, hand gels and sprays. These solvents have played a key role in protecting health care professionals, as well as the general public during the COVID-19 pandemic.
