      In April 2025, ESIG launched the successful #PeopleBehindTheSolvents campaign on LinkedIn to introduce the dedicated professionals driving innovation, safety, and sustainability in the solvents sector. The series achieved over 2,000 impressions, more than 90 likes, and numerous comments\u2014demonstrating strong interest in the people behind the products.<\/p>\n

        • Anna Tancorra<\/strong> (ExxonMobil): as Regulatory Affairs Advisor and chair of several committees, she brings deep expertise and passion for advancing hydrocarbon solvents. Her career is marked by curiosity, analytical thinking, and an international outlook.<\/li>\n
        • Christiaan Fetter<\/strong> (LyondellBasell): with over 35 years in petrochemicals and a strong focus on product stewardship, he has shaped numerous guidelines and safety initiatives. He is also an avid collector of silver tableware.<\/li>\n
        • Adrian Tristram<\/strong> (ExxonMobil): as an exposure scientist, he develops practical tools for exposure assessment and emphasizes teamwork and knowledge sharing. In his free time, he enjoys mushroom foraging and sailing.<\/li>\n
        • Aur\u00e9lie Carlier<\/strong> (INEOS Oxide): as Product Steward and chair of the Glycol Ether (GE) Tox group at OSPA, she brings over ten years of experience in quality, safety, and product stewardship. Aur\u00e9lie advocates for the essential role of solvents in modern manufacturing and transparent risk communication: \u201cSolvents are the foundation of many products that shape our society\u2014they are indispensable.\u201d A mother of two, she finds balance in reading fantasy novels or attending musicals and sees parallels between managing family and navigating complex regulatory challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The campaign demonstrates: solvents are more than just chemistry\u2014they represent people, teamwork, and responsibility. With this initiative, ESIG highlights transparency, diversity, and the value of personal stories in a technically driven industry.<\/p>\n

          Simply Essential Campaign<\/h2>\n

          The ESIG \u201cSimply Essential\u201d campaign: launched in 2023, highlights the versatility and indispensability of solvents in modern industry and daily life. This year, more than six practical examples were featured\u2014from plastics recycling and cosmetics to coatings, electronics, membranes, and packaging. Solvents enable efficient processes, high product quality, and sustainable solutions: they improve recycling rates, contribute to energy-saving household appliances, ensure durable coatings, and support innovative applications in high-tech sectors. Already, 35 essential uses have been published, and more are to come!<\/p>\n

          Since 2024, the campaign has attracted over 1,000 website visitors\u2014a clear sign of growing interest in the scientific and practical background of solvents.<\/p>\n

          ESIG\u2019s new short film explains why solvent-based paints are still indispensable for many applications\u2014especially outdoors, where durability and weather resistance are crucial. In the film, Martin demonstrates why he chose a solvent-based paint for his metal door, despite the availability of water-based alternatives. <\/span><\/p>\n

          Solvent-based paints provide long-lasting protection, reduce the need for frequent repainting, and can be applied reliably in a wide range of weather conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

          The film was developed by ESIG to promote a scientifically sound understanding of the role of solvents in durable, sustainable coatings and to encourage responsible use for both performance and safety. To date, more than 300 people have watched the film\u2014highlighting the continued interest in practical, science-based information on coatings.<\/span><\/p>\n
