Since its foundation, ESIG has always been promoting the safe use of solvents and helping manufacturers and users comply with the highest level of safety standards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of ESIG\u2019s first activities was to develop \u201cBest Practice Guidelines\u201d under its Product Stewardship Programme. The first one from 1999 aimed to help solvent users design simple and effective monitoring programmes to measure airborne solvent vapour concentrations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Until today, the ESIG Product Stewardship Team has created a full range of materials in multiple languages (posters and best practice guidelines) explaining how to handle solvents safely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, several films have been produced in cooperation with the UK Solvents Industry Association (SIA) on a variety of topics for safe handling of solvents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All these materials are promoted via the solvents@work campaign on a regular basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We continue to make sure our solvents@work materials are up to date and industry experts are regularly reviewing them. Our ongoing projects include reshooting the \u201cSolvents and the Safe Use of Gloves” film and the review of the \u201cFlammability Guide\u201d, both are expected to be ready in Q1\/2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
