SQAS-ESAD Distributor

Distributors are an important part in the supply chain of solvents. Distributor compliance to high environmental, health and safety standards and the application and propagation of the Responsible Care principles along the supply chain are of fundamental importance for ESIG.

SQAS Distributors/ESAD is a voluntary standardized assessment system used by chemical manufacturers to assess the health safety and environmental standards of distributor operations with shared control by Cefic and FECC. The ESAD assessments are done by accredited, independent auditors. ESAD is designed to replace former multiple assessments by individual chemicals producers.

Since ESAD is structured around the 8 principles of Responsible Care, it will also be used by distributors to assess their compliance with FECC's Responsible Care program.

ESIG has actively participated in the development of the ESAD program and its tools and ESIG is recommending and supporting the use of ESAD for the assessment of solvent distribution activities.
