Campaign background
As part of its continuous effort to encourage responsible and safe handling of solvents, in 2004 ESIG developed an information pack consisting of a poster and a brochure that contain recommendations on how to use solvents more safely in the workplace.
ESIG tested this information pack with over 6000 solvents using small-medium sized enterprises (or SMEs) across Belgium, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Feedback from participating companies was extremely positive:
- 80% were companies with 250 or less employees
- 90% found the poster helpful and instructive (80% for the brochure)
- 98% will display the poster in the workplace
- 95% recommended to extend the project to all solvent using companies
This feedback provided impetus to expand the campaign to other countries.
Posters
The poster has been developed by ESIG as part of the Solvents @ Work campaign. Using the links on the right, you can download the ESIG Safety @ Work campaign posters in all EU languages. By displaying the poster in an area where solvents are used, you will be introducing an added safety element to the working conditions of your employees.
Brochures
The Solvents @ Work brochure has been developed by ESIG as part of the Solvents @ Work poster and can be downloaded in English, French or Italian using the links on the right. We would encourage you to show the brochure to anyone handling or using solvents as a reminder of these important safety procedures.
