GES Phrase Library

The ESIG/ESVOC GES Working Group participated in the development of the “European Standard Phrase Catalogue” (EuPhrac) for Exposure Scenarios (EuPhrac ES) and developed the ES phrase library for solvents.

The catalogue contains a selection of generally accepted standard phrases in accordance with current law. However, some of the phrases address Risk Management Measures which are linked to a quantitative reduction of dermal or inhalatory exposure (efficiency: %).  Unless indicated in the column ‘remarks’ or ‘justification’, no written justification for these efficiency values is currently available. In the course of further development of the standard phrases, these justifications have to be added to these standard phrases

The Exposure Scenario (ES) phrases have been developed by experts throughout the EU, organized in the ESIG/SVOC Generic Exposure Scenario Working Group. The use of the Phrases Catalogue is purely voluntary, not mandatory, and the Phrase Catalogue will be subject to regular updates.”

The ESIG/ESVOC phrases catalogue has also been included in the general "European Standard Phrases Catalogue” for establishing Safety Data Sheets.

However, the updates in EuPhrac catalogue are done at fixed dates, several times a year, and it is always the ESIG/ESVOC files which contain the last updates.
